The pricing model wasn't built for the a la carte TV that we all wanted. A lot of the smaller channels wouldn't exist without the big ones bundled in.
Unfortunately this is becoming true in streaming as well. They are all jacking up prices and getting close to cable in some cases. Cable just needs to ditch the promotional pricing and 2 year deals/contracts and they'll probably win some customers back.

It’s an increasingly fragmented clusterfrick with rapidly rising prices. I saw that YouTube tv just went up to 50 bucks the other day.
We just have new bundles of junk in different places now. Not worth the hassle IMO. Glad I never fooled around with it.
