In what way are gay people an unnecessary issue?

It's unnecessary to work that sexuality into a kid's movie. The same can be said for too much heterosexuality.

Come on you don't think he was gay in the cartoon? He made googly eyes at Gaston every time... The entire town sung a song about how awesome Gaston. Was. Every man in that village would bend over and be proud to take one from Gaston.....

How do you know that?

exactly!

Gays have to go out of their way even to be identified. So its shite like this in kids movies, that pushes a needless point

No one knows youre gay, unless you announce it. Then you want to scream "don't look at me that way", right after screaming "Hey! Look at me!"

Nothing is being "pushed". It's the same song in the same context. Do you know anything about Howard Ashman, the man who wrote the song?

Well, it appears that the gay community has claimed credit, when theres nothing to claim. They had the premiere, and movie producers said nowhere in the script is the character gay. And it is not depicted as such in the movie

People have interpreted Josh Gad as 'acting' ghey (which is actually a slam on gheys), and ran with that, rather than anything from the script or dialogue

You're being trolled.

But its not a stretch to think LaFou had a thing for him. In fact, it makes sense.

It's a freaking fairy tale, people! I can't believe so many of y'all are getting your panties in a wad over one song. The word "gay" isn't in the movie anywhere. As far as the claim that it promotes beastiality, where was this outrage when the original animated film was released 25 years ago? Come on. Belle falls in love with him because she knows that he is NOT an animal, despite how he looks.

Because Gaston was his hero, the man he wanted to be.

Kid is the key word, not grown adult... I've never sung a song about my sports idol as a grown adult.

I am anazed at the prejudiced people who hate this race or religion or sexual preference. To think your cult is the only religion is sick. But it is the theaters right not to show it.

Has anyone mentioned that almost this exact scene was in the original animated version?
