Plenty of Disney stories (including this one) feature some type of "perversion" or another, and no one bats an eye.

This

Disney has made kids movies with the following plot points:

- A villain who skins puppies for fur coats
- A villain who calls on the powers of Satan to turn into a dragon
- A villain who murders his own brother on screen and then later gets eaten by his own minions
- A scene that is one step short of Lions boning on screen
- The entire horror show that is Pinocchio, including a character heavily implied to be a pedophile

But a man dancing with another man? frick THAT

Nothing he said was homophobic. He simply said he didn't want unnecessary issues that are more appropriate for an older audience being included in a kid's movie.
Yeah. Right.

It's unnecessary to work that sexuality into a kid's movie. The same can be said for too much heterosexuality.
You people are getting desperate. Just let it go.

And secondly, who gives a flying frick?
The sexually repressed and/or perverted.

Anyone who has any problem with this in any way whatsoever is at least one of the two.

I think it's forced (the gay people I know who love Disney actually don't even like it) but it won't impact whether we see it or not.

My daughter is 7. She has a gay great uncle. She has a gay uncle. Her parents have gay friends who have stayed in her home and shared a bedroom. Homosexuality is a way of life and it is directly in my daughter's life. The same way I don't like Disney TRYING to force it in my life, I won't try to force it out.

Who was it who tried to get congress to ban something two summers ago? Forced, indeed.

The ENTIRE premise of the movie revolves around the romantic tension between Belle and the Prince.

I work in fricking Temple, TX and personally know no less than a dozen gay people who work with me at the hospital. Most are physicians as well.

My med school class in Houston had 14 gay people (that I knew of) in a class of 240.

My high school class in the Dallas area had 25+ in a class of over 600.

You're just wrong

Cogsworth?

Look...I'm not going to go back and forth from topic to topic to argue for or against an agenda. Im simply stating that I believe these things are best when they are organic and not manufactured. The same way I answered my daughter when she asked "why do the parents always have to die in Disney movies" I'll answer the question about why Lefou likes boys. If she doesn't ask, i certainly won't use Beaty and the Beast as a teaching moment. There are better times to teach my daughter about diversity and while I won't avoid Disney for their attempts to try, I certainly won't embrace it either.

Smart move. You'd lose.

Imagine if your ability to notice these things were organic and not manufactured. You probably wouldn't even notice what you are now implying is manufactured.

In this set of issues, the reason you feel the way is you. Just you. Nobody else. You. If something is wrong, :mirror:.
