The machine doesn’t exist.
I think it’s the Jason’s you’re looking for.

Thomas Hobbes believed there was no morality in a natural state, so the govt and contracts enforced by said govt were legitimized.
Hobbes would absolutely believe that said govt, through enforcement, would be corrupted.
No offense, but I think you’re overthinking the collective efforts of people in power.

the state’s legitimacy is predicated on the satisfaction of the masses.
Wrong, it is centered around the divided attention of the masses. Anger, “victimhood,” and jealousy are the means of distraction. Satisfaction of the masses isn’t a part of the equation.
TLDR
Divide and conquer.

There is pretty good discussion on the shadow government at UA that allegedly runs everything here.
While it still exists, it's nowhere near as powerful as it once was.

It’s been done in iterations all over the world for eons....The Machine is simply a voting bloc between mutual beneficiaries (the Greek system)to control mostly mundane aspects of a larger organization..

I can state directly from observation of the last 6 years of election I’ve witnessed in Alabama. I’m in Baldwin County so can only stick to my time here at the polls. Very Old, Republicans from here and retires from other states that vote straight party lines or families that have been in politics for decades with familiar names . We have had some younger blood try to shake some leaves but they won’t have it. Won’t even attend debates or listen to progressive ideology.

And Ivey. Making the former Auburn coach the US Senator and an Auburn grad the Governor of Alabama are just tricks by the super, evil-doers in the Machine to hide their misdeeds.
At the political level, the Alabama-Auburn rivalry doesn’t matter as much.
Kay Ivey is the “lifetime achievement award” accidental Governor. She got her start in the Wallace era, and gradually got promoted beyond her level of incompetence several times. If not for Robert Bentley’s inability to keep it in his pants….or really him pissing off Spencer Collier and getting his mouth running….Ivey would have never been Governor. She is little more than a puppet.
Bentley pales in comparison to Mike Hubbard…who was recorded complaining about the ethics law he championed and later went to prison for violating.
Alabama has been a one party state going back to 1900. By 2010, the controlling part of the party nominally became Republican. They make sure Joe Reed and his cronies still get taken care of, in return for not making too much noise.

Many Nazis set up shop in Huntsville (they were purposefully brought here by the US government)

George Knapp Believes This US Company Helps Govt. In Reverse-Engineering UFOs
quote:
What UFOs actually are is one of the mysteries that the entire world is yearning to have answered. Top agencies from all around the world invest millions of dollars to uncover this reality and determine the cause of numerous UFO sightings. George Knapp recently broke a story about an Alabama-based private company that he asserts might be working with alien technology.
Controversial physicist Bob Lazar told long ago about the alleged secret US program aimed to reverse engineer the alien technology. Perhaps he knows something that we do not. Investigative American journalist George Knapp was the first person who interviewed Lazar and brought his story to the world. Now, Mr. Kanpp believes that a private American company named “Radiance Technologies” might be reverse engineering UFOs.
Radiance Technologies, Inc. is an employee-owned small business prime contractor. It has over 900 employees working in more than 15 U.S. and international offices. It serves customers in the Department of Defense (DOD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the national intelligence community, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), other government organizations, and selected commercial customers.

Von Braun just wanted to build rockets. It was his passion and it’s as simple as that. It didn’t matter to him the politics of who was funding it but he had to play politics to get it like being a member of the Nazi party. It was a means to an end. Nothing more.
