I take it you never drove one that had a Chevy 350ci swapped into it....

Good times :)

A few of them did. Most performed like a stock El Camino.

It seems like some company in India or China could make a good copy of the Land Cruiser.

IIRC, someone in India makes an GJ40 clone, but it's smaller than the original

No, but they did make great race cars with the right modifications.

REAL Ford Ranger, not this Chevyota looking thing coming out, although I suspect it will grow on me, before long. I like the older design, like my 1994.

Mazda RX-7
Toyota Celica
VW Beetle, stripped down, economy model, not the faux bee ess they came out with and have now discontinued. They made it TOO nice. They could have made it nicER, and kept the price lower, and repair costs lower. When you have to pay hundreds of dollars simply to change a headlight, you know it is not right from the consumer's perspective.

I wish Toyota would sell the Land Cruiser Prado in the US.

...and paint it like a German Army staff car. That would go over very well in today's political climate.

Of course...they only offer it in the US as the Lexus GX. I loved the old GX470...when they did the facelift to the 460 (after the 2012 model) I wrote them off completely. It is pretty horrible.

I have been a land cruiser fan since I was a kid, so I was stoked when they were building up the release of the FJ Cruiser. I was highly disappointed in it. Had they called it something else, it probably would have been different. To me it was, "that's neither an FJ, nor a land cruiser...what is this frickery?"
