We just got back from cruise on Harmony of the Seas, holds over 6K people! Thing is huge! The only area that ever got crowded was the pool, which I usually don't go to, but since we had our daughter that is where she wanted to go. I noticed a sign near one of the pools saying max people 21....yeah right! Probably won't do another one, although this ship was nice overall.

Do not insult Gulf Shores like that.

Maybe Gulfport or Biloxi.

ETA this thread makes me wish I was on a cruise right now. Non-Carnival of course.

Do high end cruises exists? Like ones that don’t involve over weight, old white people or families with psycho children?

yes, but they aren't the typical Caribbean booze cruises that everyone on here seems to love, there are some awesome European river cruises, and some decent Med criuses

My husband and I took a Silver Seas cruise a few years ago, and it was nothing like a Carnival cruise. Granted, the cost was significantly higher than a Carnival cruise, but not all cruises are trashy.

I've been on two cruises and don't ever plan to go again. Not because they felt too trashy but because they were so damn boring.

The World - Residences at Sea

quote:

With only 165 individual Homes, The World’sResidents enjoy one of the most exclusive lifestyles imaginable. Not only do Residents own their individual Residences, but collectively, they own the ship, ensuring that the experiences – both onboard and off – are far beyond current luxury travel standards.

Ship basically sails all year round. People own their private, studios, 1,2 or 3 bedroom place. Can fly into and out of whatever port it's docked.

2018 journey. It goes red, blue, gold, green. Each 3 months, but with various stops.

2019 Journey. Same deal color wise. Different area of the World.

July-Sept above Canada on 2019 would probably be an awesome fricking site.

You can have fun if you just DGAF and embrace the trash. Eat, drink, play $5 blackjack and make fun of people who are also making fun of you.

Most people on this board are familiar with Caribbean cruises, which are fairly cheap so they attract the masses. I could understand how much of what is said on here about those cruises is probably true.

High end cruises on the other hand are supposed to be awesome (I have never actually been on one). Destinations like Alaska, European River cruises, Hawaii, and Mediterranean are all supposedly so expensive that it prices out the outlandish behavior for the most part.

For the cost of a cruise, you could charter your own sailboat.
