they actually like '80s music

There were lots of great '80s albums that hold up today. Purple Rain, Violent Femmes, Thriller, London Calling, Paul's Boutique, Making Movies, to name a few.

If you had the pants, you'd best be completing the look with one of these

Or you'd likely get challenged to a poppin' and lockin' on the cardboard.

London Calling was actually a 70’s record.

Clash were earlier than most people realize.

We were too poor but other kids had them.
I recall they were about $60 a pair and cheaply made.

I was 100% Miami Vice in the 80s. My kids love laughing at the pictures.

I will confess to a single gray pair. Those pants sucked.

I also fell victim to the corduroy pants trend that reared its ugly head in the early 80s. I had several colorful pairs to go with pink or other pastel Izod shirts and penny loafers. Those pants were uncomfortable as hell

Dress down was OP t-shirts and shorts and assorted Chess King new wave bullshite.

What were we thinking? I will admit that I still miss the OP gear, though.

OP was the shite

OP , White Lighting and Vans. I remember wearing Vans when we lived in CA because everyone did and we moved back to AR and I got made fun of for wearing my "slippers" to school while everyone else was wearing cowboy boots LOL now all these years later Vans become popular in Arkansas

I remember one day in undergrad. sitting in the Hardee's in the student center, and a busload of kids for a high school in Southwest Louisiana came in, ONE was not in a Coca-Cola shirt. ONE.

what were the names of the bright patterned ones that were kind of like MC Hammer pants, but not so baggy that the gym guys wore that closed with velcro? My PARENTS wore those, and I wanted to die.
