My gf and I parked on the Westbank and rode it into the fair. She freaked during the crossing and made me hire a taxi for the return trip.

I did as a kid. Rode in it with my dad. I was scared to death of heights and he thought it would be a great way to break me of that

PS, I'm still when I get up high in the air, sooo yea dad, good job of "breaking" that fear out of me.

I wouldn't go on it bc someone from school told me that one of the cars fell in the river when they were testing it.

I never verified it, though. I mean, who wouldn't just blindly believe the testimony of an 8 year old on the school yard playground?

I only have vague memories of the Fair as I had just turned 5 when it happened. However this is one of the few things I remember. I also remember a suspended roller coaster which was the first time I'd ever seen one and remember loving it.

I did not, mainly because at the time I was teenager working at McDonald's and

was an hour's wage for me before they took out taxes.

I want to say we did, but not 100% sure. I do remember they kept it up for awhile after the fair was over.

We definitely went to the fair, my mom and brother rode the giant Ferris wheel, I was chicken.

I did and one of my friends was able to open the doors as we were crossing the middle of the river. It scared the mess out of mess out of me when he didn’t. Fortunately no one fell out and the wind did t kick up and knock someone out. He also closed the doors after the rest of our group told him to.

Nope.....I was a dumb-assed teenager at the time and did not see the significance of the world's fair. Probably never have another chance...

Several times. It was amazing to me how much the cables actually "dipped" down in crossing the middle of the river, especially when the ride was busy and plenty of riders were in the gondola cars.

Worked at the World's Fair full time in the summer of '84 between my sophomore and junior years of college, then worked weekends in the fall. Worked from opening day to closing day.

Best summer of my life.

Watching the fireworks from up there was possibly the best thing about the Worlds Fair.
