It’s awesome that places were left open for future discoveries that have fallen exactly into place.

I always enjoyed leading students on the journey of why certain symbols are the way they are
Like Iron -Fe
Lead-Pb
And Mercury-Hg

Shhhhhhhhhh! Be SILENT! Do not speak of this actual recording of the science of chemicals and elements, or AOC and the Democrats will revise it and change its meanings forever.

Reminds me of a scene from Sling Blade.

Doyle:
Understand the Periodic Table, do ya Karl?

Karl:
I don't understand all of it, but I reckon I understand a good deal of it.

Doyle:
Well I can't understand none of it. This one begat that one and that one begat this one, and lo and behold someone says some shite to someone else - just how retarded are you?

A BBC(!) News story from January of this year when St Andrew's University (in Scotland) announced that they found a copy of the first printed periodic table from ~1880. It was originally produced from a scientific print shop in Vienna.

My Pops studied Chemistry in college (42-43) and again (48-51) and was required to take German as some of the textbooks and leading papers in the field were in German.
