Did the "hookup culture" exist in any form before the 1960s?

Were college aged people just more discreet about their sexual exploits, or was there actually significantly less debauchery?

Sure. But chicks got pregnant more easily, so people got married faster.
My grandma told me a story about a friend borrowing a dress & returning it with "semen on the collar". In the 20s.

I honestly don't think I ever want to know about my grandmother's sex life.

Never heard of Bathsheba?
That was 1000 Years before Jesus and 3000 years before the 1960s

May be some truth to that. People did seem to get married much faster and younger.
"Fast girls" who didn't settle down were considered trashy or deviant.

Pretty sure they invented sex during the French revolution. That's how come old Ben Franklin was always over there banging French hookers.

Based on the stories my grandfather told me about his time in the military during World War II, I'm fairly certain I have close relatives in France and Germany now.

Brothels
I'm so jealous of the guys who grew up with brothels before the moral police and women took control. Not that there aren't some still around, but SuckyfrickyFighDolla Executive Massage lacks the charm of those old places on the outskirts of town that everyone knew about and the sheriff kindly ignored.

a high % of the population lived in the country. Married the closest thing to them before the next guy could.
City folk were probably banging a good bit during the gatsby days.

The only reason we have progressed past the cave was to get our frick on.

This old dude in the neighborhood told me that when they got into France, the French women were very appreciative and knew how to show it. Must have been 80-ish at the time, and had a giant ear to ear smile on his face as he remembered those times.

People didn't have sex before 1960.
