Did the aliens expect to find a bunch of apes or cavemen when they arrived here?

Even at light speed years pass for the outside observer. If they came from far away they probably expected to find pre-historic Earth when they arrived?

Are we talking ancient aliens or the current ones?

Why would you think they would have any expectation?

What if they were only traveling at 90% of the speed of light?

If they were smart enough to travel here, they were smart enough to understand the speed of light, and therefore would understand that evolution would've taken place by the time they arrived.

Why would they be coming for a bunch of dumb apes?

They expected to find the dolphins to get caught up on their research.

If they saw us as we were several thousand years ago and had the technology to travel across the galaxy they were probably smart enough to assume we'd develop into a technologically advanced species on the brink of traveling the stars ourselves by now.

An advanced alien society will have mastered exceeding light speed. Artificial worm holes, warp drive, etc. Maybe they have traveling societies like in Independence Day. Who knows.

I think the problem was that there is a toll station to get into the Milky Way Galaxy, and they all forgot their wallets. That's what held them up.

If Alcubierre Warp Drive were possible, it would only take a matter of days to travel trillions of miles.

FWIW a light yr is about 6 trillion miles. The nearest star system is 4.3 light years away and the furthest, identified is something like 13 billion light years..which is incredible to think about. It was basically formed immediately after the Big Bang.

The aliens didn't come here to see humans. They came here to bring the human species. We are simply an experiment.

Nah. They came to use us as many mining slaves and we rebelled. They left.
