Why are you guys talking about alien travel speed. That's not how they get here. They are in a parallel universe and know how to move from one to another.
Consider a somewhat recent discovery, neutrinos. If they have found away to harness these the possibilities are endless. What else have we not discovered? What if they are using stuff that we haven't discovered?
We may not be as advanced as we think we are. You only have to look at the progressive decline (and eventual collapse) of our society to see this.

The human species was an impressive result of the process of evolution. But we have now shifted into a devolutionary phase that will be the end of us. Divided we will fall as we balkanize and demonize each other. Humans are wounded fatally with something called the illusory ego.
