Did Tesla Autopilot predict crash?

Supposedly the Tesla begins breaking before the accident happened ahead.

No.
I've got this same technology in a Jeep and Mazda. The sensors go off when it sees the car in front of the red car coming to a stop. It doesn't know an accident is about to occur, but it knows you need to brake hard and fast unless you want to come up quickly on a vehicle that is stopped/stopping. The Tesla was only worried about its speed relative to the stopping car, it didn't know the red car would be involved in the accident.

Same. My car senses an accident may occur by seeing a significant change in speed from my car and the car in front. It starts beeping and I think the steering wheel vibrates.
The tesla just picked up on the red car slamming on its brakeside (or the car in front)

I know. The Tesla, much like a real human driver, sees that the other vehicle is coming to a stop in front of the red car. If the red car would have completely restricted the view of the vehicle in front of it, the Tesla couldn't have reacted until it saw the red car slow down.
It's still great technology, but it is widely available already and is in no way unique to Tesla.

No, generally it doesn't, unless the thread is titled "Did Tesla Auto pilot predict crash", then it matters quite a bit. The Tesla didn't predict a crash, it just knew to slow down when it could see other vehicles slow down.

My Tundra on 35s has this technology. It's called being taller than most everyone but the semis and therefore being able to see 4 or 5 cars ahead. With this advanced technology, I am able to break before the car immediately in front of me 100% of the time.

I'm giving the Tesla a hard look. The incentives look pretty good, it would work with my usual driving needs, and I'd have a back up car.

The tech is supposedly different. It uses radar to bounce under and around the car directly in front in order to see 2 cars ahead.
In the video the car starts braking based off of the black vehicle that was hit, it brakes before the red car begins to slow down.
That's the difference in what is widely available. It sees the car in front as well as the car in front of it.

Not true. Read up on the radar, it's pretty interesting how it bounces under the car in front to see the next car.
