I have been doing delivery for a bit for some extra income. Let me break it down to you as to how delivery drivers are paid.
In store:min wage
On the road: substantially less. Also get paid "mileage" which is actually based on sales. Starts at .675. Every $100 in sales, they get 6.75.
There are scenarios that depending on what the order is and where they deliver that they can be paid less than minimum wage.
I appreciate any tips. That delivery fee does not go to the driver. I use my own gas, drive on crappy (NOLA) roads in my own vehicle. Wear and tear is a real thing.
Whoever orders gets to relax and stay at home and have a service provided to them. I think expecting a tip is extremely fair considering the service.
If you don't want to tip your driver, maybe pick it up yourself?

Weirdest part of this ordeal

You tipped $5 online and then threw in $5 in cash for a location that could be bothered to take your order when you called. Unless your order was more than $50 you tipped person as much or better than if they had waited on you in a restaurant.
Even if online tip went to someone else $5 for one pizza seems more than fair.

I tip 20%. Easy math, easy money.

Reading these weekly, if not daily, tip threads reinforces my standard of: Screw dining out, it's not worth the hassle. I'll happily cook and clean up my own mess.
Plus I can eat an awesome gourmet dinner dressed in my underwear, in a recliner, if I feel like it.

I would never do either of these things ever again if I had my way.

My wife and I disagree on tips for takeout. I generally tip a dollar per box. I consider it a handling fee. This means I’m tipping between $2-5 depending on the order. She used to be a Togo girl back in her day and she thinks it should be more. Idk what’s right but that’s my reasons.
ETA: Pizza $5-8 is my typical tip. Depends on how many ones I have.

Alternatively, if your restaurant can't afford to pay you more, maybe find a different job.

But you have accepted the social norm of the expectation of tipping by patronizing businesses that use that labor and wage system. If you don’t like the social norm (you clearly don’t, as you seem to pride yourself on being a poor tipper), you should find an alternative dining option. You’re the outlier needing conformity, not them.

It is the way it works here. If you don’t like it, move to Europe?
See how that works..

I've already explained I have not accepted that social norm.

Maybe I should just let hand the restaurant my wallet and they can charge whatever they like and I'll thank them for it.
There's no such thing as fixed price or fixed product in a business. It's give and take. When they start demanding I tip a certain percentage, I either accept that or I go somewhere else. Until then, I tip what I think is suitable and you work where you find the pay sufficient, including gratuity.

No, it's not. It's the way you would like it to work. Otherwise tips would be mandatory.

Don’t order takeout from a restaurant? That’s a workable idea that doesn’t involve moving.

What does a maids wage cover if not those services? That’s the whole job lol

You know what else works? Get a job where you don't need tips to make your bills. Pretty sure county garbage pickup is hiring.

Or be a dick brother I don’t care. Don’t get pissy when people talk shite about you online?

That makes you the weirdo that people hate when you dine out. That’s fine, but I find it more than a bit bizarre to brag about at best, and perhaps even deliberately cruel, and all for the sake of what? To prove to people that you’re too cool for standard practices? You’re special?
Congrats on being an a-hole, I guess?
