Sometimes it takes a friend telling you the truth to finally get it.

What say ye good people of the OT, did I cross the line or not?
**Bonus Question: was Donkeypunch’s analyzes spot on?**
I wouldn't say cross the line considering you are such good long time friends. Although with the state of mind he was you might should have done it a little more delicately. But maybe that is exactly the way he needed to hear it.
I think their is a pretty good chance you are dead on.

OP is right on the money,
She is cheating bigtime and she believes it is serious to the point that your buddy is on his way out in her view.
He got mad because he realizes you are probably correct.
Your candid observation did not cross the line because he brought it up.
Convince your friend that he should immediately avail himself of the professional services of an investigator and an attorney.
He will thank you eventually.

It's either going to end your friendship or end his marriage, maybe both.

He had to leave because he knew you're right.

Wouldn’t sharing that info with me kind of shoot down that statement?

Weren't wrong in telling him she's cheating, but this was a retarded choice of words to use.

Yes and no.
It doesn't necessarily make it your business, but him venting to you about it certainly entitled you to speak your opinion on the matter.

It's called venting. Just shut up, listen, and make sure there is plenty of beer in the box.

Taking into account they've known each other for 30 years, and who else is going to tell their buddy what's probably going on.
