I tried searching on google and didn’t see anything. Does anyone know of sources that describe this?

I felt there was a scene in Blow where Barry Seal was portrayed but never said his name

Barry worked for Roger Reaves (among others) and Roger Reaves has said that he and George Jung never met because they had opposite routes.

But Reaves did say that the movie Blow was a pretty good depiction of how things were back then. He said American Made was all bullshite.

You came to the right place to ask. You realize Seal has surviving family that posts here, right? Probably still some of his associates around too.

I know the military veterans smugglers he dropped to in SE AR are still around. Some good old boys that have settled into retirement nice and easy and quietly. I used to be one of their customers.

I knew his younger brother Ben. I sold him some Huey helicopter parts for a shady deal he was putting together for the Dominican Republic Air Force.

That's all I got

Yes, Jung had explosive diarrhea after eating spicy crawfish etouffee after eating with Seal at Schwab's in Brusly.

It was Swabs. And he most certainly ate there, as he was in Plaquemine a good bit. By the way, Fat Daddy's in Plaquemine? Named for Barry Seal.

Seal, Reaves, Munday, etc were all just independent contractors who would transport the drugs for different cartels. Some became exclusive for one group or another after a while.

According to the book "Smuggler's End" Seal never even met Escobar and the Ochoa Brothers. He was just one of many pilots that flew for the cartel.

The Seal House and Jung’s Hotel were only about 5 miles apart from each other so it’s highly plausible….

Smugglers End was a poorly written, mostly untrue account from someone with a very myopic and biased view of Barry Seal. I would not rely on that book as anything authoritative. In fact, Seal actually photographed Escobar loading his plane with coke (which Ronald Reagan later showed the American public to justify the War on Drugs.)

Which blew Barry as an informant to the Cartel, effectively ending his life.
