noise about bocage terminating their lease post-fire and all that
had me wondering why it even mattered, i never saw anybody in there and never once heard anyone talk about it being a good restaurant.

It's the right board b/c it's about the lease being termed for fire.
Second fire in 10 years right? Sweep the Leg. 86. You're Fired. and so on.

I ate there once. Got the burger. Was not impressed at all. Hope something cool goes in its place.

I always considered it a BR institution. Just one of those places I assumed everybody went to now and again.

If it wasn't for the nostalgia, that place would've been gone a long time ago.

not even operated by the original family, no?
seems like they'll be better off paying less rent someplace where they'll likely end up with more volume as well, i don't know why people are up in arms. landlords don't typically run off successful businesses, hard to imagine burgers and french fries paying for 3k sqft in that spot.

Once. Never felt the need to go back.

There was a rumor that the walls actually could talk so it had to be eradicated.

I could hammer a double with cheese and jalapeños right about now. Good diner burger IMO.
Hijack - better burger in BR?

I hear Flemings has the best - you can get one for $5 at happy hour - but I've never had one.

CCLa has a damn good burger.

Is it inedible or gross? No. I love a good diner burger when I'm hungover. But they did nothing you couldn't do easily.
I ate it occasionally with an old coworker. It was your typical smashed flat top burger on basic store bought burger buns with regular ole iceberg lettuce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, tomato, and pickles out of a jar.
I have no issue with a traditional diner burger, but it isn't some elaborate product worthy of the idiots on social media freaking out.
As I said in another thread, we don't know shite about what was going on. For all we know, Dearmans people could have been shitty tenants. Regardless, the building owner made a completely legal move that was spelled out in the contract that nobody was forced to sign. If he was trying to get them out of there since October, they shouldn't be shocked he used this clause to finally make it happen.
Risk you take when you rent.
