I 100% disagree with religious views playing a factor in decisions are made about the law. With that said, I also believe people have the right to have any religious view they want and that includes being able to attend service (safely) so its hypercritical to say "let em burn".
Part of the problem is that everyone thinks their views should be the law of the land.
You might be joking, but I am sure you said it because to some degree you think that, but you can believe that government needs to do a better job separating church from state and not want people to burn down churches.

my point is everyone wants to point fingers at others and sham them for doing something they don't agree with. acting like religion / church is all high and mighty is pretty two faced. Paying out hush money and protecting the pedos in my opinion is just as bad and someone having the ability to have an abortion.
