Yes it is and drinking any alcohol while driving is as well. These shops need to close or take away the open container law all together.

How many people do you know that pick up a 24 at a gas station that wait until home to open it? For me, every single person I've ever known that bought a 24 at a gas station opens it up when they get in the car

That's a New Orleans thing. Lots to get adjusted to if you ever move out.

Absolutely. As is drinking a daiquiri. We aren't disagreeing here.

When was the last time you walked down Bourbon Street? Or St Charles Ave during Mardi Gras? Or LSU tailgating...

My understanding is that it's up to the local jurisdiction with no prohibition at the state level.

Must be a complete middle to South Louisiana and entire Mississippi thing, because I've seen, worked with, and known people all over that do it

Crawl out from under that rock. You think the huge coolers full of ice and beer are in gas stations so homeless people can buy them?

Are you serious???? I went with 16 oz buds. You would be surprised at the amount of people that grab a couple 24 er's and drive home or wherever.

Every once in awhile, I'd pick up some tall boys for the drive home. It was about an hour and 15 minutes.

I'm talking about while operating a vehicle.

I believe some states don't allow retailers to ice down beer, for this very reason.

The key word is walking. Now I am sure that most that are driving to a game probably have s beer or whatever. And drink all day and after the game as well. The amount of dui's they could give out after a game would be amazing. But there is nowhere to put them all. Now a lot of people go down bourbon st. And get wasted and then find there car and drive off. But aren't drinking while driving.

This is correct. Michigan does not sell single beers. You have to buy a six pack.

Right, I didn't think so.

Just seems like the State is talking out of both sides of their mouth.

IIRC, most states don't allow alcohol to be sold that way, in a "ready to consume" manner.
