Trying to learn more about Houston's surrounding areas. Since recently moving from the Lafayette area, we haven't traveled around enough - Houston is obviously huge.

My partner and I are looking to buy 0.25 - 1 acre(s) of land and building multifamily (1200-1500 sq ft/side duplexes and triplexes) homes on the property.

We don't have the capital for a 5,000 sq ft Heights lot @ $350k so looking out further for something more affordable (~$100k) with flexible zoning and healthy population from a strong local industry.

We've spoken to a couple RE agents, one mentioned Texas City because to the healthy work force due to the presence of several refineries

Any Houston natives out there with any recommendations?

Thanks

You should stop talking to the person who suggested Texas City.

Don't know how longterm you're looking, but a lot of growth is and will be headed NW of Houston on the 290 corridor past 99.

I've been south of Hwy 6 for about 5 years. I'd look hard at the Rosharon area. Ft bend is building a new high school on 521. It's a decent area relative easy access to hwy 288, ft bend tollway, and hwy 59. Smack dab between sugarland and pearland. Still a lot of undeveloped land in the area, but it is starting to blow up.

Channelview close to Houston
Vidor further away from the metro area.

Both wonderful up & coming areas for you and your partner to invest in.

You’re welcomed in advance.

It ain’t San Francisco, but it’s got its share of libtards too. They’re like a cancer waiting to invade its host.

Can’t be too careful.

Your post makes me think you should buy some old apartments in Montrose and flip the land.

Same for 249 since it is extending to magnolia. Pretty much anywhere on the Northwest side of the metro is booming. Stay away from spring though.
