What reason do you have to just make shite up? This is grossly inaccurate.

Is it? I don’t remember the rape part or the part about the girl dying, but the cemetery attack is true.

I know this is not the case but I thought it was. What was the murder that was solved by a tigerdroppings thread/member? I remember the killer was dating a posters sister.

just read the court docs and good god DTL was an evil dude. What he did to Pace was unsettling just to read.

My brother in law worked a job with him at one of the plants. He told me after it went down that it crossed his mind that DTL did it when they narrowed the search down to black males. He said he used to say some crazy shite in the break rooms.

Cops were swabbing the cheeks every white male in a white pickup truck.

And swabbing white males accused of being potential suspects based solely on anonymous call in tips.

I know for a fact that the media was saying it was a white guy with a white truck. However, at some point during that time, detectives were 99% sure it was a black guy based on DNA at crime scenes.

Yes. There was a cemetery attack. Nobody was raped and nobody died. Again grossly inaccurate and disrespectful to the victims to say so. The story was they were fighting him off. Lee had a machete. They were injured badly esp the boy, but something spooked him and Lee ran away.

Dow Chemical in Plaquemine, LA at the time. I had to drive outside of the plant in order to smoke a cigarette. I would go out to Hwy. 1 and find a safe spot to park. When the whole DTL thing hit

DTL was working for JE Merit at Dow during some of his spree. He replaced someone I know on a job when he was injured in an accident.

You will see that the chief during that time doesn’t mention that fact. Revisionist history. DNA said it was a male, black but no one knew if it was light or dark skinned so they just let white people get swabbed for a pretty long time

Wasn’t she the one who supposedly fought back enough at first to maybe slightly injure him or something like that?

It was a crazy time. You also had Sean Vincent Gillis on the loose killing women, in horrific ways, but they were mainly hookers. I think for a while they thought DTL was doing all the murders.

I recall at near the same time some professor was linked to the anthrax attacks and you had the DC sniper on the loose. It was sort of a crazy time for nutjobs.

Right, now I seem to recall that a car, maybe even a cop, pulled into the cemetery and the lights spooked him and made him run off.

I'm glad they left out what he took from his victims as a trophy, I was told that was never made public knowledge. Won't specify because I can't be sure if it is true or not, just something I was told when we evaluated him.

I believe you are thinking of Gillis, one of the other serial killers at the time. I don’t recall DTL being a trophy collector. Gillis kept all kinds of trophies. He was more of your “typical” serial killers.

He tried to tell the cops about it and they blew him off and said they were looking for a white guy.

BRPD’s fixation that all serial killers were white was one of the biggest blunders of the entire saga. At least two more women died needlessly if they had followed-up on leads of a black dude when first reported. They just wouldn’t listen to people or even detectives from other cities!

Then, they wouldn’t pay the reward to the woman who gave them the correct tip. Idiots.

Then, chief Pat Englade tried to get a book deal to look like a hero and profit over his amateur investigation. I think he was shamed so much he backed out of writing a book.

Yes. I remember reading that she fought back so hard and it enraged him. That poor girl. She fought him ferociously until the end.

Pat Englade was a frickstick who 100% didn't deserve the chief of police job. Absolute idiot. His only talent was kissing Bobby Simpson's arse like a pro.

Read. Wow. He was a monster and based on his prior criminal history shouldn’t have even been on the street. And the fact some were saying he was retarded, thereby trying to eliminate the death penalty for him, made my blood boil. He got what he deserved at Lane Memorial when he died there.

I remember being at LSU... It was after the Murray Pace girl was killed (I think that was her name), but at least on campus it seemed like for the females, there was a heighted sense of self security.. For some reason I remember seeing the local news and they interviewed a girl who mentioned how she had recently got a dog.. People were on edge a bit.

Guns ended up in the houses of women who had no idea how to use them and many were nervous about driving a white pickup.

It was tough for white males driving a white pickup truck

You can circumnavigate the globe with the amount of white pickup trucks in south Louisiana.
