It seems obvious, but I'll ask anyway:
Do defense attorney's / prosecutors pay Dr's for consultation regarding these things?
Seems like if you aren't a Dr. you wouldn't know what questions to ask.

Yes- the defense will rely heavily on their health expert to assist with the line of questioning.

Right. I was referring more to someone who would consult for the attorney but not necessarily take the stand as a witness.
Again, it seems obvious that this is the case, but I didn't know for sure.

I've been compensated for providing an attorney info for a case where I didnt have to take the stand and I was not involved in the case whatsoever...I just had the info he needed/wanted
