That seems like a pretty big deal to me.

Me too!! I ain't gonna lie.... When this first happened I would've flipped the switch myself on Chauvin. I'm starting to see what really took place and now I'm sorry he's even in court trying to defend himself.

The EMTs told dispatch where to have fire meet them after the move. I just don't understand why they would need the fire department. I would assume paramedics are better trained than firefighters to revive a dead man.

Asphyxial deaths are due to compression of blood vessels in the neck, not the airway. It takes much less force (about 1/3rd) to compress the carotid arteries than it does to constrict the trachea.
Are you high?

Situations that can cause asphyxia include but are not limited to: airway obstruction, the constriction or obstruction of airways, such as from asthma, laryngospasm, or simple blockage from the presence of foreign materials; from being in environments where oxygen is not readily accessible: such as underwater, in a low oxygen atmosphere, or in a vacuum; environments where sufficiently oxygenated air is present, but cannot be adequately breathed because of air contamination such as excessive smoke.

Extra manpower for a code. It's simple.

Maybe the fire truck had the equipment they needed. The town I live in the EMT and Fire work out of the same building.

Am I wrong to think that if a grown man was pushing his knee down into someones back like the prosecution is alleging, there would be significant bruising to the area that the knee is allegedly pushing down on?

Surely the autopsy would've shown bruising?

Now do how much fentanyl it takes to OD.

Anywhere from 2 to 28 nanograms per milliliters according to Baselt. From personal experience I’ve seen people well above the 30’s who were going about their day.

Same. I was initially on the side that Chauvin killed Floyd but the defense has done an amazing job at changing that narrative and showing a different perspective.

Even Court TV has changed their tone after today's witnesses and saying that the video doesn't show the entire picture.

Well what I'd also like to know is how can "the crowd" tell with any level of certainty what amount of pressure a cop is putting on someone?

Just because you have your knee on someone doesn't mean that you have all of your weight on them ..

Yes, you can compress the airway or block the airway, but in this situation the blood vessels would have been constricted well before the amount of force necessary to constrict the airway.

Let me clarify: “asphyxial deaths of this type...”

And as we have stated before, typically 7 is fatal, but it's been seen as low as 3 in fatalities. In addition he had other drugs in his system, like meth which would have made the lethal dose even lower.

Especially for a prolonged period of time, like 9 minutes. Chauvin was most likely just touching his knee to Floyd for 99% of the time, but was prepared to put more weight on him if he started to struggle again.

I watched for the first time for about an hour before the lunch recess. I don't have any idea how the case is going from an evidentiary standpoint, but the prosecutor's affect is flat. She's almost monotone and she makes you want to drag words from her mouth to move things along. If I were sitting all day long watching her, my eyes would grow heavy and my head would bobble.

Do the jurors get notebooks in this jurisdiction? If so, I'd be doodling to stay awake.

Yeah, I can only imagine my posts from last year. I was very much on the bury him side based on the initial video.

It's refreshing to see honest takes after more information comes to light. Not a lot of people would admit to that.

Prosecution needs to call in a real doctor so we know what this paramedic held back from the prosecution. “Heart Stop” is dead in most languages ?? you were trying to resuscitate a dead man asswipe!

I wonder what this person thinks “resuscitate” means???
