I surely hope they don't cave to this nonsense. Nothing will be solved. Crime will still be overwhelmingly black (racist statistics, I know), and a poor city will become even poorer.

Poor Deray. Got to try and find a way to get back in the spot light since the murder of our local heroes and those in Dallas took all the thunder out of the BLM agenda.

And too bad for him that there is video and he wasn't roughed up any.

It will be interesting considering he was arrested, but not charged.

I feel like they did this to get protesters out of the street, but not tarnish their record with an actual charge.

It was absolutely comical watching the police officers blatantly telling people they could protest but to stay out of the road and off the highway, then when they were arrested for stepping into the road, you could some of them saying "Man I didn't know".

Quite honestly, the legal system did them a favor by not charging them.

How about purposefully impeding traffic?

Protesting isnt illegal nor it should be.

It is when police officers tell you to stay out of the road and the middle of a major highway, and you do it anyway.

Protesting in the street creates dangerous situations with motorists who have the right of way on the street. If you truly believe what you are saying here then you are an idiot beyond compare.

And $23 million for the attorneys. Isn't that how those class actions generally work?

Yep

And which POS attorney took this case?

ETA: This is what BLM is all about. They know that there's money in cops killing African Americans. That's why BLM aint roaming the streets of Chicago.

When you are trying to instigate 500 other people to do the same thing.......yeah that becomes an issue. Stop trying to create some bullshite narrative that oh this poor guy was just jaywalking.

Yep, standing in the highway shouldn't be a crime. You should try it out and see what happens. God, you people are stupid.

i dont recall him specifically, but at this particular event werent many of the arrests for simply stepping off the curb (even if pushed by the crowds/advancing police) and not an actual attempt to block traffic like other incidents?

i recall reporters and the like catching arrests too in that style.

I'll agree when running them over isn't a crime either.

It's Airline Highway.

You are not only endangering yourself as a protester, but you are endangering the motorists on that highway by potentially causing an auto accident.

So yeah, I'm cool with people being arrested for disrupting traffic and endangering other pedestrians and motorists.

This is part of the shtick

They did the same to St.Louis Co, MOHP,and St.Louis City.

Just a way of keeping their names in public. It had been quiet, except for fatboy Gary.

I'm greatful that we as a society don't allow a radical hate group to legally harass locals by blocking traffic with no consequence.

I saw hella protestors block of numerous parts of st charles avenue in nola around two weeks ago. No body got arrested and i was held up for 2-3 minutes because all of the traffic, but in baton rouge i was not there and saw no evidence of people in the street. I made the comment because the man in question actually had his arrest taped and he was no where near the street. All lives matter, but accountability must be heard from all sides. Police are immune today! Number one dogfighting participants in LA, state troopers that is a fact!
