Most serial killers have a bunch of missed murders

I’m watching it now for the first time; it is such a great show. Just started the second season when they’re really getting into Rader.

Enjoy

I remember enjoying the hell out of every episode and looking forward to the cut to Kansas

He didn’t do it. Of all serial killers BTK probably has the biggest ego and there’s no way he’d be able to keep them secret

I teach at the school he graduated from. Always have a day or two in certain classes where we get sidetracked talking about him. Always crazy/funny to hear how many different kids have parents/grandparents that were “almost” taken out by him.

Unreal that he got away with everything as long as he did.

Agreed. He was pretty much an idiot and got caught because he thought he was smarter than everyone. I find it hard to believe he'd be involved in any other murders because he probably would have fallen asleep at the crime scene or something.

One of my favorite shows and Netflix totally dropped the ball. Such a well produced series that was abandoned. Screw Netflix.

One of my high school friend’s dads was one of the technological investigators who helped break down the floppy disk information. Pretty interesting stuff, but Rader thought he was smarter than he was. Unreal that he got away with everything as long as he did.

I have to imagine this is how things went.

BTK: Can you track a floppy disk.

COPS to IT: Can we?
IT: yeah sure
COPS to BTK: Nooooo we definitely can’t.

The full video of his confession to a judge is available on youtube. It is incredibly disturbing how calmly and matter of factly he is able to recount all of his murders. It doesn't seem like there is any passion or any joy in talking about his crimes he is just answering the judges questions completely emotionless.

Also for anyone who is interested in his story there is a really good indie movie called The Clovehitch Killer which is mostly inspired by his crimes.

This is actually how it happened. He asked if they could trace it back to him. They said no.

I have to agree with this. After he got caught, he was telling them everything. It was just pouring out of him. It's kind of sick because that was obviously one of his fricked up kinks - telling everybody everything in detail.

This sounds like the cops just scapegoating because it's convenient. If Radar had killed these girls, he'd have long since told them all about it.

There are psychopaths and then there are psychopaths.

Dennis Rader, aka BTK, is up there among the most evil of them ... for sure.

But it's best to remember, psychopaths are like baby wipes, you krep digging, there's always more shite to be had.

There are more bodies ... that applies to ALL of the most famous serial killers.

There are more psychopaths ... they are among us, they simply have yet to be caught.

Some may never be caught, ala Jack The Ripper, The Zodiac Killer, et al.

Exactly. He’s way too proud of his accomplishments to keep them secret. Killers like Bundy and Gacy likely have more bodies out there. When they turn into animals and go on a killing spree they don’t always confess everything

She's not a killer, that I know of, but she's just like her father, she loves the attention. She'll talk to anyone & everyone about it. I guess having Dennis Rader as her father will do it, but she's a bit nuts.

She wrote a book about her father killing people. She can't let it go. Just seems strange to me.

It was a great show. The psych professor was fricking HOT. Was the show a casualty of COVID or did they just abandon it for no reason?

The fun part about this scenario is that is pretty much how it went down, and he believed them.

When the cops finally arrested him and started questioning him about the BTK murders and telling him how they tracked him down through the floppy disc, he actually got upset that the cop lied to him because he thought they had some sort of professional rapport.

That's how delusional that POS is.

BTK is a perfect suspect to pin the murder on, even if he had nothing to do with it. If I was Dennis Rader I would tell the cops to eat my balls.

Pin all the murders in the world on this POS. Rader can burn in hell for all I care.

Wasn't the cop squad that went after him originally called "The Hot Dog Squad?" Feel like Last Podcast on the Left threw that little nugget out there.
