I’m hearing this was on Cedar Line in a house owned by Denise in a nice neighborhood in S BR. And this is not the 1st shooting at this address.

Fine upstanding citizens I tell ya.

The jail book and the EBRSO site never include "attempted" when there's a murder charge.

The more you know

Also, this isn't his first rodeo:

Usually doesn't include attempt at all. I assume it's how the site is coded, and how charges are structured in Louisiana. For example, there is no statute for "Attempted Second Degree Murder". It simply doesn't exist.

LA RS 14:30.1 is Second Degree Murder
LA RS 14:27 is the statute that outlines the attempt modifier

So Attempted Second Degree Murder is most correctly written as LA RS 14:30.1;27

Which I assume the Sheriff's site simply doesn't know what to do with.

I've never seen it there, ever, which makes it quite frustrating at times because there's literally an arrest for "murder" every single day.

There's a very, very small number of offenses that have a designated attempt statute, and I want to say that I've seen those before, but that could just be me imagining things.

Seems like a nice kid

quote:

During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that the Victim and her live-in boyfriend/Accused of 4 years who also share a child, who was present at the time of the incident, were engaged in a verbal altercation at the residence. During the verbal altercation, the Victim went to her vehicle in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. While sitting in her vehicle, the Accused began punching on the passenger-side front window, ultimately causing it to crack. The Victim advised the Accused ran around to the driver-side front window and began to beat on it. In fear of the Accused breaking the window and grabbing ahold of her, she began to drive away. As she was driving away, she observed the Accused reach into his waistband and grab a handgun with an "extended clip." As she continued to drive away, she heard approximately 3 gunshots, resulting in damage to the back glass of her vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.

If you have ever seen her testify at the Capitol, it’s quite clear she is a bonafide representative of North Baton Rouge.

I’m really not familiar with her to be honest. But I do have a friend that lives in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred. Word is that there is all kind of shenanigans that go on at the house with a bunch of Dodge Chargers and such parked out front. But every time the HOA is notified you are accused of being racist.

So, in a nice neighborhood(600k houses), predominately white(99%) and one of the only, if not the only black "family" in Laurel Hill, whose relative has held a council position(in an area FAR from this..LOL), run for mayor, has schilled for Alton Sterling, BLM, and currently works for an ambulance chaser in "community outreach", who will certainly get this POS off without a so much as a slap on the wrist......somebody explain to how prejudice is NOT a justified reaction. Asking for a friend.....who lives in the area and .....

So two arrests for Domestic Abuse Battery and now attempted murder of his girlfriend of four years, according to that article. I would think all of those incidents are related.

With all due respect, you mean the next mayor of "Bettin Rudge"...

Hopefully if things like this can continue to make enough of a splash we can keep her out of any positions of relative authority.

Denise a famous person in Baton Rouge or something?

She’s a race-baiting politician. Former councilwoman, failed mayoral candidate, but currently serves in the state legislature. She got a lot of attention after the Alton Sterling shooting calling for the defunding of police, calling for violence against “pigs”, and wearing a blood-soaked t-shirt with sterling’s name on it at marches.
