This is an important message from DEMCO:

All DEMCO members are asked to reduce electricity usage immediately to help prevent further outages and to support restoration efforts.

Ice accumulation is causing tree limbs to break and power lines to snap, while the increased demand for heating is straining the system.

Every effort helps.

Report outages using the free MyDEMCO mobile app at DEMCO.org and by calling 844-MyDEMCO (844-693-3626).

Thank you for being a DEMCO member.

Now everybody is cranking their heaters to 90 so it will still be warm when the power goes out.

Are there any emails requesting you to disconnect your eVehicle from its charger?

And you laughed at Texas when we went dark from snow and ice.

There was truly no way for Demco to anticipate this

Yeah…the increased usage has nothing to do with trees snapping and hitting lines.

You think they can build a power plant, substations, and some transmission in just a few days?

I think they should have upgraded their systems to deal with hurricanes that will come and do much worse than snow, and would get the job done well ahead of time.

I also think they are bitchmade for trying to pass the blame onto "increased demand" during a historic weather event.

I haven't seen or heard of a single limb or tree breaking due to the snow. This snow was so light and powdery that it didn't even pile up in order for accurate measurements to take place due to it blowing all over the place. I had 5" accumulated on my snowboard then it stopped accumulating and the heaviest snow fell for two hours while the wind blew its arse off and nothing more climbed up my ruler. There were flat areas of my yard that I measured 8" and flat areas of my yard that I measured 6". Then there were hilly areas of my yard where I measured 9" and 10".

DEMCO is retarded. They just don't want to admit that their infrastructure isn't strong enough to handle increased demand and are blaming it on "ice" build-up bringing down trees. Give me a damn break.

And then they'll do the same thing during hurricane season without improving a damn thing.
