Cases are going to go down in LA and the US pretty soon. Already going down in the initial states that started this one.

Deaths still haven't risen much. Very ho hum.

The delta wave in India was a very sharp up and very sharp down, expect the same here.

Same in Scotland and a couple of other places as well.

Hopefully by this time next week we are confidently on the back half of this wave.

Be interesting to see what kind of filtering they have on that data, and what lag.

R(t) truly above 1 for a few more weeks would be a lot of cases at the peak (10-15k/day-ish?). My guess would be going sub-1 quicker than that and peaking very soon.

Ochsner says its unvaccinated employees will be required to wear N95 masks and get weekly COVID-19 testing. The health care system intends to mandate coronavirus vaccines for its workers when the vaccines get full FDA approval. #lagov

Agreed, its on the way down and it was just a cold.
I have an urgent care clinic that my office shares a parking lot with. The last 2 weeks they have been slammed. Yesterday, I noticed a few less cars and today the lot is back to normal.
Its a cold, like any other. It runs through a community and leaves.

The CDC shifts their position AGAIN.

South Dakota's cases remain low. If you're worried about the virus, you're free to get vaccinated, wear a mask, or stay at home. But we won't be mandating anything. And the CDC's inconsistency doesn't help the American people.

can i get a death rate chart?

It has been steady between 2 and 9 for the last three months with an outlier of a 10, a 13 and a 14 count. The cases have gone up, but deaths have stayed the same. That, to me, would indicate a milder strain? In my unexpert opinion?

Good.

Follows the trend with pretty much every spike in cases too.

I understand how confusing information and a chart can be for those that don't normally think for themselves.

But this chart shows trends and is a valuable predictor of future state.

Do you not like good news? It certainly seems like you don't like good news.
