Just lost power again. And just popped back on. That’s 6 times. I’m ready for this wind to settle down.
I’d go turn the breaker off for the night.

I have 2 giant 30-40ft oaks in my yard... the bigger one was already hit by lighting 2 years ago, that’s only thing that got me nervous

Dude has cerebral palsy not sure he should be the one in the flowing water

I don’t think this is going to be worse than those flood we had around 2011. The parish has done a pretty good job with drainage since then. If you were good then, you should be good now, with regards to rising water.

Fortunately, the heaviest part of that band has rotated out. Still have some heavy stuff, though.

Thanks for that link. Fun to watch the live number climb when we get gusts. Saw a 67mph a few minutes ago.

The wind is ripping in Denham. This might be the strongest gusts so far.

Lake Charles was only fed from one end before this storm. We’re going to be out for another 10 days or so. Time to get all my shite tarped up and head to the lake for a couple weeks. Hopefully we don’t lose power up here.

quote:Pretty big gusts out in the Central area too. Rain's invisible, you don't see it but you get wet if you're outside. Gets quiet, then a big surge of wind. Lots of branches bouncing off my roof. Getting a bit unnerving, as I can hear the hissing increase as the gust approaches, then THUNK.
Yep, still gusting in SBR too.
seems to be coming from almost straight south, and I have a couple big oaks close to the house on that side.
Supposed to go to work in the morning, trying to wind it down. This isn't helping.
