Hey Duke, can you tell the class about Sawyer-Eliassen Symmetric Intensification?

Andy Hazelton just dropped that on Twitter. I Googled and got nothing but journal papers and studies. I said, Nope.

Bad from a strength perspective. Not much either way as far as track.

People will complain, but the system worked.

Lol nah baw.

It's not a CAT 4 like Laura.

What keeps Grand Cheniere and the other areas in Cameron alive? There’s basically no jobs in the area other than Cameron LNG.

No change really. Looks alittle stronger at landfall. All depends when it turns NE. The earlier the turn, the worst for Lafayette

I pretty much quit worrying. I'll decide whether or not to panic when it's about 4 hours out from landfall.

As #Delta intensifies (now up to 100kt) it's been notable to watch where inner core lightning (proxy for strong updrafts) has occured.

Earlier lightning focused on the NW side, but recently lightning has been rotating cyclonically around eye. Suggests a more symmetric core. LINK

Looks like this thing is about to explode into a Cat 4 with winds around 130 mph.
