[quote]Some of my favorite posts happen in these threads.[/quote
]Stayed in Houma for Gustav. Stayed outside most of the day watching the wind blow shite around. Only had 100 mph gust (per our weather machine on the houseboat) while eating breakfast.
I have not and never will leave for a storm.
The most exciting one I experienced was while on a houseboat at East Timbalier Island. Blew about 90 sustained and some higher gust. A raccoon held onto a survey cane pole for about 6 or 8 hours while the water covered the island.
Then he climbed down and went about making a living.

If it shifts east, the people at TWC are having a circle jerk in their car on their way to NOLA

So I think this clearly shows that the NHC should not say a damn thing until the storm is named or the storm has developed or whatever happened with Delta. They were so fricking off with that first advisory, but once the system established itself or whatever, the NHC was pretty on the money for the 7-8pm Wednesday night location.

What time is the next update?

Question for slack on historical wind speeds. I drove home in the teeth of that ninja fricker Humberto. From Beaumont to Starks. What was the max winds I experienced. Would those be comparable to what I might see with Delta if it goes in as a mid to low 2 at the Cameron/Vermilion border.

The @HurricaneTrack guys may actually get a chance to launch their weather balloon in the eye of Delta:

HURR-B is ready if #HurricaneDelta makes landfall during daylight. It will carry 2 GoPro cams, a high altitude weather computer, APRS transmitter and a SPOT locator to the stratosphere. Stay tuned! @GregNordstrom @TyphoonMr @DerekjT1003 LINK
