Any one know if NOLA will inact contra flow, and if so, when?
Posted on 10/5/20 at 12:50 pm to rds dc
quote:also a fast moving storm can bring stronger winds much further inland than one that just creeps ashore. There would be less time to weaken and can bring hurricane force winds much further inland than normal.
Also, the fast forward speed means that the cooler near shore waters won't weaken the system as drastically.

Might find a hurricane. NHC bumped current winds up to 60 mph with the 1:00 pm update.
Posted on 10/5/20 at 1:01 pm to rds dc
JUST IN: #Delta strengthening quickly with max winds now up to 60 mph as of 1 PM. Don't be surprised if the 4 PM forecast has this storm peaking at Cat. 3 intensity in the Gulf.

HWRF & HMON show the system struggling over the next day or so.
Wow. Way better than the ‘rapid intensification’ prediction people were pimping out an hour ago
Everyone remain calm and stay vigilant.. the whole ‘this hurricane is going to frick us just because of 2020’ is a bit premature and juvenile

It's kinda shocking as active as this hurricane season has been none have directly hit Florida.

There's only so many times the greater New Orleans area is going to play Russian Roulette this year with these things.
