They sent out a text around 2PM to the elementary parents saying no decision had been made and they were waiting to hear from the diocese. Text and email update came about an hour and a half later.

Gotcha. I’m more talking about the HS and the decision to not let the football team travel to Bastrop tomorrow night and play a football game. The diocese made that decision to not let them play. Not CC

garden district-ish home. huge, old windows. lost 3 during Laura. a lot more debris this time. not fricking around

All the carnage from Laura piled up on the streets and roads will turn into scary projectiles. I count myself somewhat lucky. I piled up my destruction early on and it has all been picked up. I should be safe from flying debris.

His words were that New Orleans could still see pretty high winds because this system should have a larger wind field to its east, displaced. Also, a much larger wind field as it expands when it starts making landfall. Did you watch his video?

Yes, I saw it. New Orleans getting 40-50 MPH winds, at most, is dodging a direct impact. NHC has New Orleans at even money to see winds over 34kts, for example.

So a good thunderstorm wind.

That's the ping pong you're going to see until 24 hours out. Another thing Levi touched on in his video. Anywhere from East Cameron to West Vermillion.

It's slightly slower, so the upcoming turn NNE or NE will be interesting in the next few model hours.

Curious... in what way? Like less of a NE turn?

Certainly concerning to see the inner core become re-established so quickly after landfall, this time as a more typical size core.

Increasing odds we see another period of rapid intensification with #Delta in the Gulf of Mexico.

Bummer. We're going on day 6 and 7 of hurricane closures since the start of school, but we luckily haven't seen a wind over 45 mph here.
