Although I read all of these threads, it always baffles me that people think they know the route when its still this far away. The models are cool, until something changes.

Have you guys not seen what happened to the last few storms that came this way? Little jog here, little shift there. IT seems to always happen.

Yeah, the city was an epitome of luck in 2005.

From a storm perspective, it was

Storm weakened and went east late sparing new orleans from the worst of the storm

A cluterfrick of human error was the main culprit for Nolas issues in Katrina

Sucked what happened but a lot of it could’ve been prevented

Now the Mississippi gulf coast didn’t have a chance. I shouldn’t say just the gulf coast. South mississippi go fricked

Very lucky. If Katrina doesn't make that last minute 30 mile easterly jog, Nola would have been flattened exponentially worse than what we saw.

No doubt, but I would never use the words "always lucky" and New Orleans in the same sentence.

Additionally, way before my time, but I think Betsy hit the city pretty hard as well.

Ok... fine.. I just bet Camille had some wind speeds of over 200mph. Let’s call them wind gusts of overt 200.

Lol so 2 major hits for a city that sits that close to the coast in the past 60 years?
Katrina was horrible for Nola but what if it doesn’t take the east jog

New Orleans is going to get some wind and rain. Big freaking deal. Won't be worse than an afternoon of thunderstorms

I feel bad for whoever this direct hits. Prayers.
