Lol so 2 major hits for a city that sits that close to the coast in the past 60 years?
Now check the number of major hurricanes that have hit Tampa and Houston.
For that matter, how many direct hits has Miami taken? The last I remember was Andrew almost 30 years ago and it was south of the city.

Looking at the radar on the Weather Channel (yuck I know), it looks like some way, way somewhat outflow from Gamma is making it’s way over SELA bringing some rain this evening. If anybody needs to do yard shite before Delta, this afternoon may be best.
I cut some branches this weekend and been burning them in a fire pit. Gonna grab a sixer and ramp up the burning while it’s dry. I don’t need that adding to the other branches and shite that’ll be flying this weekend.

New Orleans hasnt taken a major direct hit since Betsy
I wonder if this is true for each section (40-50 miles) of the coast.

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet but it’s going through an EWRC. Wonder how much that’ll change the size and wind field

Made landfall in Cocodrie. 20-30 miles to the east. But to your point, they've definitely been a target.

Any of those models showing cat 2 and 3 intensity 120 hours out are fake news. IDK why they are even published. The storm will be way too inland for a cat 2 storm 120 hours from now. The range of intensity models from the SHIP to the CTCI is a lot more realistic.

It was a wind event....not as much rain as they were expecting

Barry pushed a big surge through the V Bay but the rain wasn’t really that bad

It’s not even in the gulf yet and people are acting like they know where it’s gonna land lol
I don’t know what is the worst.... people predicting exact landfalls, people saying places in the cone dodged a bullet, or the multitudes of people asking about specific conditions in their specific locations.
All for a storm not even in the gulf yet.

Yeah being that Morgan City is 20 miles from the mouth of the atchafalya river... landfall is usually Terrebone Parish before the storms pass over Morgan City

Will still flood half the city
The mayor will make damn sure that doesn't happen. She AND New Orleans will NOT be bullied.
