Following the DC crash, some Reddit poster on r/Army who is a current army pilot claimed to have insight as to how unqualified many army pilots are. It was taken down but I thought it gave a pretty good summary of how the Army pilot force is full of unqualified amateurs who lack experience and training.

I’ve seen the audio a few times, but if you listen to the ATC audio, the controller clearly was aware of the proximity of the two aircraft and told PAT25 multiple times to either report the CRJ in sight or pass behind the CRJ. This was 100% on the helicopter pilot.

The helicopter acknowledged but likely had the wrong plane in sight.

100%? No.

The tower controller likely gets some blame here because of the lack of evasive action directions prior to impact.

Tower controller was likely pre-occupied giving out landing/runway clearances and didn’t notice the proximity until it was about to happen.

The pilots in the helicopter may bear most responsibility, but not all of it.

I had no idea that the Army even had a flight force.

I knew they had helicopters. I guess I was thinking fighter pilots. Brain fart.

At least there’s a current Army pilot who can admit that their force is full of unqualified and under experienced pilots

It's insane to me that ATC at the airport used most frequently by our government officials has to multi task with goddamn military helicopters being flown by what amount to novice pilots.

100% on Army officials and the pilots of this blackhawk flight imo - we all heard the ATC communications and they did fine

The entire military has become a social experiment now that there aren’t any wars going on. Before with constant deployments it was harder to roll out all the bullshite that’s been happening, but now that there isn’t anything to do, it’s been turned into this circus.

Army was probably happy. The more crashes the more replacements we get to make! More money for the MIC

The military has a budget of just over $1 Trillion. That's a lot of fricking money. And they can't properly train pilots? Is this a lack of man power problem?

I am not a pilot. I ask sincerely, why was the pilot double the allowed flying height? They were supposed to be at 200ft and were at 400ft? That’s the controller’s fault?
