I mean there's just no defense for going from "hey your dog is on my property and I don't like it" to shooting it and dumping it in a drainage ditch. You're just a shitty person.

Owners may very well be jack asses for letting the dog loose but no legitimate reason to kill the dog for their stupidity unless it posed some real threat to you.

Here come the retards who will attempt to justify this by saying it’s their property and they can do what they want.

So dumb.

ok, so walk over and take it up with the owner
He apparently did, multiple times. I said he shouldn't have killed the dog, but the owners sound like shitty pet owners.

We have a reasonable expectation that if the family dog escapes our neighbors will not just cavalierly shoot him because he can. Dogs have a special relationship with Man and it needs to be preserved. Take it up with the owner like a civilized person if you have an issue, don’t execute a dog for being true to it’s nature.

All true, but the dog didn't escape he was let loose to shite in the neighbors yard. We don't know if there had been any civil discussions in the past, for all we know the owner may have said "what are you going to do shoot her"?

That woman is a dumb arse. It would be understood that that's what the guy wanted by anyone with an IQ above 80.

You realize he’s being charged criminally right? None of the shite you posted matters as it pertains to the felony charge of cruelty to animals (and my initial post you replied to).

quote:

§102.1. Cruelty to animals; simple and aggravated A.(1) Any person who intentionally or with criminal negligence commits any of the following shall be guilty of simple cruelty to animals:l (b) Torments, cruelly beats, or unjustifiably injures any living animal, whether belonging to himself or another. (g) Unjustifiably administers any poisonous or noxious drug or substance to any domestic animal or unjustifiably exposes any such drug or substance, with intent that the same shall be taken or swallowed by any domestic animal. (h) Injures any animal belonging to another person. (i) Mistreats any living animal by any act or omission whereby unnecessary or unjustifiable physical pain, suffering or death is caused to or permitted upon the animal.

Now, lawyer up OT wannabes. Try and justify shooting a golden doodle in the head because it shite in your yard.

Mr. Leblanc walked outside to check his mail and was charged by a large dog that appeared to be aggressive. Mr. Leblanc yelled at the dog to stop and it continued to charge. Mr. Leblanc drew his weapon that he carries daily(since he lives in Delcambre) and fired it at the animal striking it in its head. There's his statement. Sounds justifiable to me, a man protecting himself from an aggressive stray dog while on his own property. Now go get your statement, from the dead dog, good luck.

Cops do it everyday to innocent civilians. Surely this guy can walk away scott free for shooting a mutt.

Then he should call the law and the neighbor and explain.

He chose to be a pussy and dump the dog without telling the owner what happened.

I seen it many times over and over.

Just like the last poster all he has to say is I was on my property. The dog which the owner has admitted he lets roam free was on my property trying to attack me, my child, my grandkid, or my animals inside a fenced area. If he says I shot the dog and he ran away where I was able to go inside then it hard to prove other wise.

The owner of the animal was not there to say other wise.

If he dumped or admitted to dumping the dog that could get him in trouble.

It will get thrown out watch.

Especially in a parish that has had a huge issue since the late 1970’s and 1980’s with packs of domesticated dogs running loose mixing with coyotes in farm areas.

He doesn't owe the owner shite. Apparently, he told the owner beforehand what would happen if it continued and that should have been the end of it right there. The dog owner wanted to be a prick and they got a prick response.

I like how the dog owner said, "he could've called the police or animal control". Good luck with that, johnny law will blast your golden puff faster than old man Leblanc did, and he'll do it with a pistol and ammo that you paid for.

Yes dogs do occasionally get out, but letting you dog out and not keeping an eye on it usually just asks for something to happen to it, unless you have it fenced in and even then the dog could do something not very good for the dog or have someone or thing do something to the dog, I’m not defending him shooting it though, I’m really just waiting for the police reports to fully be released before I make my finial decision and I suggest everyone does the same.

Well I know the guy and he said supposedly that dog has killed a few of his ducks and chickens but looking at the dog I don’t really think that’s the case it really doesn’t look like the dog to do that, but I could be mistaken and it really did kill them. But in my opinion I don’t think that’s grounds for killing it while it’s not destroying property like his chickens and ducks. And he told me before that he has told the neighbors that owns the dog that it has killed ducks in the past so idk why they continue to let it out unsupervised if that’s the case and it has actually been killing his ducks and chickens.

Those miniature golden doodles are vicious animals. I can see how the guy from Delacambre was scared of the 12 pound dog that justified blowing its bloodthirsty head off.
