And they have potluck meals on Tuesdays.

Last time I was in Rendezvous, they had disposable chafing dishes of Indian food

I'm biased, because the owners are close friends.
But it's a nice bar, with a great selection of whiskey. It's classy inside, you can go there with a date or with co-workers. Non-smoking. The people there know their shite and make good drinks. Older, professional crowd.

Awesome. I like Wednesday nights.
Go early unless you wanna be the only person in there.
Drinks are fantastic.
Guy who used to work at Bulldog then OoT then Pelican works there. You'll recognize him.
My personal rec is the Milk Punch.

One of the Bar Rescue episodes featured a "members only" bar. Has BR ever had one of those?

I think those "members only" type places are to get around local liquor or non-smoking bar laws.

Bar Rescue tried to come fix Brightside Bar & Grill about a year ago. But Darren got super butthurt about it and wouldn't let them come.

That was probably for the best. It's still divey, affordable, and has good food. They don't need to change imo.

Like that bar in NYC where you have to have a key? For the exclusive peoples.

Last week when my 91 year old grandfather was in town I had to take him to the VFW off Choctaw and Moose Club in Port Allen. Talk about some sights and interesting people.

I like gay, so I'm okay with that. It just didn't feel gay when I went. I was with a group of males too. Hmm.

Big Mike's off of Airline
Longbranch off of Florida (If it's still open? Haven't been in years)
The Vineyard, of course
Mrs. G's
French Quarter Daiquiri in Port Allen

quote:If you ever go to Utah, you have to pay a cover ("membership fee") to get in any bar, and it's good for a certain number of nights. It's how they skirted their ridiculously asinine stone-age liquor laws. It has to be a "club", which means you have to pay "membership". They take down your name and stuff from your license. At least that's how it was in Park City in 2007.

Gayest shite ever.

My only slight criticism of Bar Rescue is that they tend to make the places a bit too corporate and cookie cutter.

Their service blows hard too. The three main people that run it are fricking retarded
