Everything on here from my end was meant respectfully. Hope everyone is understanding of that and not offended. Any idea of what happened with the bill?

My views were also not meant to offend anyone personally. I tried for the most part to use the terms anesthesiologist and CRNA instead of saying "you" and "me" to keep from things being personal. You could ask any anesthesiologist and they'd have similar opinions to me. As I'm sure most all CRNAs would feel similar to the posters lsusetheforce and success. That's life.

I actually can't believe some of yall are doctors. I just hope you are as good at your jobs as you are pretending to be on here.

Session ends 6/6/16 at 6 pm. Bill deferred today on house floor - it will not see the light of day until the next time they try again....next year

GOOD... can we now anchor this thread?

Incorrect - Fred Mills tried to add NP independence onto a bill on Senate floor for final passage, but his amendment was ruled non-germane. Robert Johnson is still running around trying to get support for his amendment to give authority over CPAs to DHH (and therefore, the Governor's executive decision power).
This is going all the way through to Monday night.
Legislature is off tomorrow, back is session on Sunday.

My bad. Thanks for clarifying. I was going off of the LA Legislature website information regarding the bill. Wasn't aware of the behind the scenes shenanigans...

I'm not sure what doctors you've been around, but almost all of the ones I've encountered have been nice and done their job. Yes, some can be assholes or whatever you want to use to describe them. Those doctors can lose business if they are as bad as you make them out to be. If you're feelings get hurt, find a new doctor or work for a new doctor.

I still don't think you've shown a legit study that proves your point that quality goes down and mistakes go up. How would you actually know if quality goes down? You don't even work in a family practice setting or even work with NPs. I know you assume, just based on the fact that MDs had longer training and did a residency, but does the longer training/residency prove that quality goes down and mistakes up? Do you have studies that show that to be the case? And yes, you know where I stand and I know where you stand. And don't bring up the optometry bill, that ship sailed 2 yrs ago. My question is do you have the facts to back up your claim that quality of care goes down?
