Anyone remember the deep freeze in 1985? Record low on February 21 in 85 was 9 degrees. I remember it didn’t get above freezing for a week. I had a bag of ice in the back of my truck for 6 days.

Franklinton has been pretty lucky over the years with snowfall. 2017, 2009-The snow game between Franklinton and Salmen, and 2008. I can’t remember if we got any in 2004 or not.

So I was checking OpenSnow and they have 6" of snow for BR.
You worry about a little warmth aloft but overall, this is a typical method of Gulf Coast snow.
Now that I live in the frozen (and emphasis on the frozen, I aint see double digits without a negative in front until Tuesday)...
north, you baws need any snow survival advice?

Yeah as a little kid remember walking on the grass as it crunched like glass!
Remember 1989 too when the Arctic Express 35mph North Wind came racing down rattling the Flag pole.

Do you think Baton Rouge or the Ms/La state line around Kentwood will see more snowfall?

Accuweather got rid of the snowflake icon and has replaced with a freezing rain icon. No idea if they’re legit or not. I’m not a weather guru like you guys.
Just go find your local NWS forecast office and read their public discussions.
They are issued at least twice every 24 hours and updated often when a weather event like this is coming.
You read them, and you will know more than 95% of the goobers shitposting in all these weather threads with their hourly apps and Weather Channel crap.
***This is not a knock on those who actually know what they are talking about.*** Boat, Legend, rds, etc...there are others, but those just came to mind...

Latest ICON will make Baton Rouge very happy.
7” of snow
7” of snow

Really tough question. Im expecting some enhanced snowfall near the snow/sleet/ice transition.
Where exactly that is tricky and dependant on whats actually in place early Tuesday.
You want the sweet spot where the column is under freezing but you maximize moisture.

Jesus it actually just keeps increasing the predicted snow totals for NOLA

Forgive me.. I am a rookie... I like Accuweather but their ads are just freakin annoying...
Don’t you think the local meteorologist would be better? Wouldn’t they know the nuances of the area especially with all the water around?
