What are the models looking like for central Alabama? South of Birmingham area.

Been mobile all day and haven't had a chance to check other than spann's above.

18z GFS updating right now

edit:
Still holding steady between the 12z and the 18z run which turns LA in a winter wonderland

All these closures announced today must mean the NWS contacts these government and school systems are talking to are pretty confident.

Well what happens is, one parish decides to close schools and then the other parishes follow suit because all the teachers and bus drivers will start bitching and complaining about how they don't have off. I think it happened in Lafourche or Terrebonne not long ago and all of their employees were in an uproar

it did increase the freezing rain totals, especially around the coastline. Showing a devastating 1" of freezing rain in NOLA
Teedy will have the city ready though

ICON keeps everything in the GOM but it’s usually the less reliable among all the global models. 18z GFS pushes the freezing rain a little more inland than previous runs. I doubt we know exactly what type of winter precipitation until late Sunday into Monday.

The GFS has been the most northern out of the batch of models. So I wouldn’t take too much stock in the GFS. Take a blend of all the models (GFS, Euro, CMC, and the ICON), and the truth should lie in the middle.
