I keep my house cool all winter so it's not directed at me. It does piss me off a bit that I might lose power because a whole lot of idiots are trying to get their house to 80 degrees when it's 8 outside.

This is why I’m glad our house has an old school gas log heater in the den. These type of heaters can pump out some heat.

Thursday morning will be bad as well. But tomorrow the roads everywhere will still suck. I doubt they open the I-10 bridge in br.

Absolutely crazy snowfall totals into Lower Alabama and into the Florida panhandle. Florida will shatter the previous record snowfall. Meanwhile…

All of these ruler pictures in the snow measuring around 8 inches can’t be good for the mental health in a lot of men in the Gulf South.

Wood stoves are great. When all else fails, wood provides heat. Its just such an infrequent need here that it isn't worth the load of bullshite it takes to put one in, and it's in the way 350 days of the year.

There won't be any melt whatsoever until midday tomorrow, and even that will be very minimal. It's not like the temperature hits 40 and all the snow rapidly melts. It takes a period of several days, likely not til this weekend.

If you are talking about roads if cars and trucks actually drove on it there will be ice. By a variety of methods cars and trucks melt snow on roads as they drive over them, even when it is below freezing (the lower the temp the more traffic needed). The problem is in the evening and overnight when traffic volume drops to near zero the water and slush refreezes and instead of two wet ruts that you can drive in reasonably well you get two ice rails.
