This is random but see if you can take tennis lessons. Biggest change I’ve made this year for the better. Keeps me accountable, is enjoyable, and possible to get better little by little. Or take lessons with an instrument. The point being…instead of just trying to delve into a new hobby maybe commit to it with professional lessons. Gives you some new human interaction, forces you to remain consistent, and gives you a nice challenge/reward cycle. Just an idea based on reading your update and something I’ve enjoyed doing this year. I can’t pretend to know what you are going through. Hope this idea sparks your interest!

Posting your own exact quote in hopes that you can see the truth about her.

I’ve been there and done that; it’s not about you.

Plus, tennis wives and mommies love setting up (or pairing up) their single friends with the new guy.

Good to hear. You have a daughter and now your primary goal should be to be the best father for her as possible.

frick the ex and former "friend". Life is full of ups and downs and can change in an instant. You just have to roll with the punches, do whatever you can to make it through the bad times and enjoy the good times.

Sometimes it does feel like its not worth living, but it is. Look at it like a game. You can't let it beat you. If you go through it and die from anything beyond your control... you win.

I’m not depressed and have a good life, and I’m in bed by 7-8pm normally.

I do get up a 4:00am every morning though.

Great update, brother. Life can be a LOT. I’m glad to know you are doing better. If you ever get in that vaguely suicidal range again send Chicken a message to send me a message and I’ll come hang out and buy ya dinner and we can talk about chicks, man.

Chicks, man.

I'd just stay consumed with building a life and future with your little girl. Save up monies for her. Continue trying to find happiness in life.

This might've already been discussed, but have you ever ran? Also, now that your daughter has been born, has that done anything for your shift in perspective?

Great news!!

Eta: going to bed early and being well rested beats insomnia every time

Volunteer to walk shelter dogs and meet some ladies at the park. You can "check out" a dog for a few hours to get extra exercise and a hobby that may attract ladies.

Are you in a gym that does workout classes? Become a regular in one of those classes. Those can be good sources of community.

I’ll get up around 7:30

I used to be a night owl. I was an avid reader, not as much since shite hit the fan. I’d stay up late, sip some bourbon and watch movies. I don’t do that either. The therapist and I concluded that I would drink to celebrate, even a weekend. I don’t have much to celebrate with liquor these days. I haven’t been drunk since the incident Easter of 2023, so that’s a plus.

focus on that. focus on meal prep. get your arse in bad arse shape

its ok to spend hours at the gym, you have time right now. over do it, thats ok.

you should go over the H&F board and get in on the program party for june so you have a bunch of like minded individuals that are doing the same program etc

Damn. Thats hardcore. What kind of building? Did you bust through the front door or a wall or windows…? How far into the building did you get? This is fascinating.
