Geez. This is not new news. Testosterone is hell on the immune system.
Also, another possible reason: men are generally larger with larger muscles, which means we use more oxygen. Hence why women typically use less of their SCUBA tanks when diving.
Requiring less oxygen might help with a respiratory disease, no?
