Brah, the daycare ACCEPTS their money when the baby is as young as 6 weeks old, obviously the parents have no other option but to leave their infant who is too young to lift his own head with strangers who have multiple other children to look after.

If she did indeed shake the child then it was not negligence, like the child fell off the changing table, it was assault. It would not matter the age of the child if the bitch cant handle her temper she could hurt a child at 6 months old or older just about as easily as a 2 month old.

You can probably find an at-home who has those certifications. But I agree. We're in a great day care and the social skills are extremely valuable.

Your right I probably could but the cost would be higher. Another benefit of daycare is getting the child's immune system up. Getting various viruses/bugs at a younger age beefs up the immune system. I know several ppl that become stay at home moms/dads and the kid did not have much social interaction. Come time for school the kid got sick a lot vs kids that went to day care.

but the fact remains the woman got off with a slap of a wrist.

Based on your reply you would not care for my thoughts about the choices of unwed mothers, & since it has no place in this thread, I'll leave it out.

It's a recent social construct to say that babies & toddlers need socialization. Very few people older than 50 went to daycare and they all came out fine. Not sure you can say that about the millennials just yet.

FWIW, my 2 & 4 year olds are incredibly social- they strike up conversations with adults & kids everywhere we go. And they've never been to daycare.

someone else is raising the child and becomes mommy to the child. ----HAHAHAHA. Definitely not.

You'd be surprised how many little ones call their nanny or daycare worker mommy. I was in day care from age 5 weeks on, and my earliest memories/fondness was for the lady that kept me all day, not my mom. I liked my mom, but I only really saw her for a few hours a day, and she was always tired.

quote:

So you're blaming the parents? Holy. shite.

Seeing as my reply was about the idea of people thinking they couldn't afford to stay home with their kids when they probably could, and didn't even mention those parents, or the fact that they undoubtedly have had those same thoughts, however baseless, I'll ignore this.

But I'd be old, dying and still working if I got to take off for 2 years for every kid born.

Or plan ahead before you give birth, or put off having kids an extra year to build a nest egg, or just live frugally for those years. There are other options, but yes, working an extra couple of years is a small price to pay for your kids' well-being.

Don't send them to school either. Home school. Nothing else makes sense.

With the poor state of public schools, that's exactly what I'm considering. You read my mind! Gold star for you.

Those people over 50 are called baby boomers, and they are hands down by far the worst ever generation. So you arent helping your argument there

Who in the hell sends their 2 moth old to a daycare center? I understand that some parents can't afford to take much time off work for their newborn, but if a grandparent or other family member wasn't available i would find a way to hire a sitter. Better somebody that i've vetted myself than sending them to a daycare where you don't know most of the people who will be handling your newborn.

Horrible judgement (she should have had the book thrown at her), but the parents are retarded as hell

Wow.

50 years ago, children were often raised in much more social atmospheres. Women stayed home much more often and neighborhood moms spent a lot of time together.

Good for them.

That's great and all. Perfect utopia. But that's not the world we live in.

And if yall both worked you could send your kid to private school instead of making them a homeschool weirdo. Just a thought

And when she gets off probation?

I hope that is just a misprint by the author of the article. If she could actually get a job in childcare after her probation is up, then that is messed up.

Since she plead guilty, she would have to write that down on each job application.

I would hope a daycare would not hire a felon.

You're right.

Baby boomers were the first generation to utilize day care on a wide scale basis, so you're correct. The GI or mature generation, on the other hand, did not need day care, so I'll amend that to say 70+.

The reason that there's a downturn in divorce rates and an uptick in the number of people who think one parent should stay home with the kids is because of the boomers and how they raised (or didn't raise) their kids.

So the baby boomers were raised at home and turned to shite. And the greatest generation was raised with a terrible home life due to the depression and they turned out awesome. So maybe having someone at home coddling their special little snow flake all day isnt the best idea

Or, maybe there are multiple different ways to rasie a child well. Just a thought

I'm stating a fact from my my own childhood memories, and you're calling me a liar? um. ok.

My mother did the absolute best she could in the circumstances she found herself in. She married young to my father who was raised by a stay at home mom and wanted to be married to a woman who did all the things his mother did (cook, clean, not drive, wear the clothes he chose, socialize with whom he said), but also brought in an income. She told me many times how she wished she could have stayed home longer with us, how much pain she was in going back to work after only 5 weeks (with a broken tailbone no less) but that my dad insisted.

Boomers are in that 55-70 range actually. Their kids are 30-50... and many of their kids are the millennials, although not all.

But forgetting that for a second... That's one of the dumbest correlations I've ever heard.
