Nah the day after New Years is the worst. Or rather the first Monday after.

I love the day after Christmas. Nowhere to be, no expectations in you, usually have new tools and gadgets to frick around with, usually lots of leftovers to eat, etc.

Doing Christmas at my moms tomorrow, so we have one more day of gifts. I haven’t seen my brother since January because we live so far away

Day after Christmas is one of my favorite days of the year. I always take the week between Christmas and New Years for vacation, so the day after Christmas is when I'm done with the family obligations and my week of doing whatever it is I want to do with no demands on my time starts.

It's goddamned glorious. Tomorrow, I'm gonna binge on The Clone Wars, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, and Watchdogs: Legion. Maybe even swing by the range and try out the new trigger on my rifle.

I haven't been particularly excited about Christmas for years. Don;t know why, except maybe I just hate winter, not to mention the MONTHS of retail displays that start showing up right after Labor Day in some places. It's overblown.

Sunday, I had to fly out from Atlanta to San Jose, CA to take over a job that's going tits-up in a hurry. Company was gonna fly me home for Christmas, but when I saw what a wreck the job was in, I decided to volunteer to stay and try to rein it in. Needless to say, I can't get any subcontractors to respond and live up to their obligations regarding this project. It's the triple whammy. West coast fear of COVID and their own shadows, California work ethic (or lack thereof), and Christmas holiday where no one wants to do a damned thing.

I should have flown home. And this is a lesson to me. From now on, I'm gonna be a whole lot less of a Grinch. I'm gonna use the entire week from Christmas to New Year in the future to see every family member I possibly can. Christmas in a hotel room 2200 miles from home sucks more than I thought it would.

I hope all y'all had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you all a very happy New Year!

Knowing that Mardi Gras was right around the corner always helped blunt the end of Christmas. I knew family friends would be getting together again soon. This year is just depressing.

Friend, Walmart opens at 7 tomorrow with some great after Christmas sales (50%). Lots of lights and tins of popcorn. Yours, TulaneLSU

Why? What provokes you to be this way? It’s so annoying.

shite not this year. Didn’t travel far this time around and tomorrow is Saturday. Don’t have to cook shite, do shite, or buy shite.

I can wake up at my leisure and sip on some good stuff in front the tv all damn day.

Tomorrow may be better than actual Christmas.

Tomorrow will probably be a rest day for the husband and I

Kids will be busy with their new toys - we don’t have to cook bc we have plenty of leftovers

And I cleaned the house after everyone left today!

Today was great! Tomorrow won’t be bad at all. Plus I have a new sewing machine to play around with!

I love the day after Christmas. I've been gone all day, I am just getting home. It was a good day, but just exhausting. Tomorrow I don't have anything planned. I will be able to take it easy... Throw shite away that has been around bc of Christmas..

This was especially awesome whenever I got a new game system or even just new console or PC (back in the day, yes dating myself) games to play.

Dating yourself by talking about playing with game systems? Unless you're talking about those arcade like frogger, donkey Kong, or pacman games you aren't that old. (I'm mid-late 1970s.) Until the late 80s my tv was a 4" box that also worked in the car. My NES SMB/Duck Hunt setup was played on a 13" b&w until '89. HUGE change with my kids... my oldest opened a ps5 today and spent most of it playing on his 55". My youngest got the Series X and spent half the day playing it on his 50".

As an adult though I feel like the day after Christmas is the worst of the year. It's the big come down. The last 2 months have been building for the day and it's over just like that.

But getting to the topic at hand, it is a letdown but rock bottom is usually the day the tree goes out which is usually New Years Day. We then go birthday's in Feb and 2 in April. After mine in April its a big letdown with nothing of note until NFL training camps open up.

The series of bullshite social signaling days and months in the first third of the year is annoying AF. They only make it worse.
