re: Darwin’s Law at work in Tanzania (62+ killed)

The Nigerian prince I’m in talks with told me about this. Said it was his company’s truck and to avoid bankruptcy he’s going to send me all his money and run to the states where I’ll give it back to him but he is letting me keep a few mil. Somehow thousands of miles away this hits home.

He's "white underneath" because that skin is dead. All that tissue is non-viable. There's no blood flow to it so the epidermis sloughs off and it basically turns into rawhide. If it was viable dermis it would have a pinkish hue to it due to blood flowing through it (which you can kind of appreciate in his forearm and hand). But it's like leather now. He's screwed.

The truck was in an accident and was probably leaking fuel, so the locals came to get what they could out of the truck.
This happens a lot in third world countries.

Very much agree. I just meant that when gas leaks from a wreck, it's like the bat signal for those to come and steal all they can off the truck, etc.

One of the incidents that happened like this in India(I think) last year was even dumber because a few people were trying to warn everyone to get a way because of risk of an explosion. Some dumbass lit a cig and blew everyone up.

How do you steal gas without being near the truck?

This version at least explains the crowd of crispy critters. Another version says some were there to steal the batteries off the truck and one of them started smoking.

That's because this is the best .gif on the whole wide internets.

First of all...look at him. You know right off the bat this isn't going to work out for him. Then he takes off and it looks for a half-a-second like everything is going to be okay (you know deep down it won't). Then he falls backwards, BUT WAIT he remains upright! He's going to run this out and catch his balance! Oh no...he's not. He stumbles like a drunk elephant towards his fate. Then just as you realize he's headed downward, he instead catches the bumper of a white sedan. Hard. And if you watch really closely at the very end, he puts his hand to his nose and his facial expression reads "..Well shite..".
Then you get to watch it all over again.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that, given the location of this event, they’re not stealing fuel because they’re dumb.
