Denmark just can't catch a break!

Danish tourist robbed, murdered near New Orleans hotel, according to Denmark media reports

quote:

A war veteran from Denmark was recently killed in New Orleans while on vacation, according to reports in the Danish press on Tuesday.

The Danish media reports assert that Poul Hansen was shot near his hotel and that his belongings turned up missing, making his loved ones suspect that he was robbed and slain. Those reports attribute that information to an attorney for Hansen’s family, Mads Pramming.

In an email Tuesday, Pramming confirmed his comments to the Danish media.

From those reports, Hansen appears to match the description of a man whom officials said was found dead from bullet to the head and back in the 4200 block of America Street in New Orleans East about 6 a.m. Saturday.

quote:

Pramming said Hansen was staying at a local Super 8 motel. There is a Super 8 on Chef Menteur Highway less than a half-mile away from the scene on America Street.

quote:

Hansen was in his 40s and had served in both Iraq and Afghanistan — a wife and two children survive him, according to the Danish reports.

quote:

Anyone with information on the case can call the New Orleans chapter of Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.

[Update] Suspect Caught

Woman Arrested

quote:

The NOPD said 36-year-old Brandy Myles was developed as a suspect and a warrant on second-degree murder charges was issued for her arrest. Myles was already in custody in Jefferson Parish on unrelated charges, and re-booked in connection with the NOPD investigation, police said.
"Obviously, we don't know what happened, but it sounds like he might have been robbed, then shot," Mads Pramming, attorney for the Hansen family, told WWL-TV.

Why was he on Chef's?
Was he by himself?
Why does it take a Danish news source to break this news?

Who wants to live in a place where animals will literally kill you just to take whatever crap you have on you at the time, just because you happen to be there

Pathetic culture. Pathetic.

He probably had no idea he was going into what is essentially a war zone. He probably thought he was getting a great deal on a hotel room. That deal cost him his life...

The city of yes doesn't count murders in NOLA east against it's murder rate.
