Gymnastics would have been cool, but we live BFE.
They’ll find their way. My sophomore son has quit two sports he lettered in as a freshman and picked up another one. Crazy kids.

Doesnt have to be dance but there is tons of evidence out there that diversification at a young age is a good thing even for their future sport of choice. Too many parents fall for the pressure of year round sports though without much different in mobility, strength training, etc.

I thought it was better for my son to play one sport at a high level, rather than three poorly. As anecdotal as that is, it worked for him.

The only dancing my kid does is dancing on the graves of the other teams kids after he hits like 8 homers with that new marucci

De La Salle in NOLA did this about 5 or 6 years ago for their football team in the off season.I think they won their division or made it to the state finals after they did it. May have no correlation but it can help with coordination, body control, footwork and breathing control....of course you could get most of the same with swimming or martial arts.....skyler Green and a few others took up Tae Kwon Do in 2002 and he says that all the work you do in it is a great workout and helps with body control

See my earlier reply. Gymnastics is GREAT for building strength, even in the years before puberty when muscles aren't really developing.

Jiu jitsu will not only give him control over his body, but will provide the capability to beat his enemies, drive them out before him and hear the lamentations of their women.

I once ran into some professional ballet guys in NYC. They were in insane shape and were straight....of course they were Russian and one Frenchman who got kicked out because he was running through ballerinas like a hot knife through butter and it was causing an issue according to the Russian dancers.

Tae Kwon Do helped my son with a lot of dexterity and footwork. You gotta get past the first few belts to get out of the super basic.

Yes. ADHD with ODD.
Seriously think about the sneering and laughs he'll get in dance and the ODD factor which brings anger, irritation and defiance issues.

Who even diagnoses kids that young? Seems strange to saddle such a young boy with those findings.

Agree. Sounds high energy, just find things he enjoys to keep him occupied.
