Not really. 12% is high, no matter where you are. 12% is still 12%.

Does Farmerville have a Chick-a-dilly?

They have the sister store Southern Classic, one of the OG ones, not one of the new franchised ones.

Sales tax is always high in tourist towns.

This a big tourist town?

Farmerville is arguably one of the poorest towns in Louisiana - pop. 3,000
60% AA
30% White
10% Hispanic

Median Household Income $22,000 ; 55% poverty
Lake D'Arbonne (fishing) is the only attraction

I've seen a fight in the grass in front of Southern Classic.
May have spilled over from the Sonic next door.

Oh, I've stopped at that new gas station across the highway from them late at night on my way to camp and filling up to head back south...I've seen some stuff in that area when the good protestants have turned in, or at least gone to their shops to drink where the other church members won't judge them.

I did however just narrowly miss a shootout that turned into a hit and run one day though. The clerk behind the counter had quite the story to tell.

No worries. Our highly esteemed Gov, Jeff Landry has a plan to lower state sales taxes, income taxes, and get rid of those pesky vehicle inspection stickers.
He just needs another term to get the job done.

4 more years 4 more years, 4 more years

Says all the coonarses.

No. It’s a poor rural town.

Now I will say that there are some very nice homes on the lake, but I would assume those aren’t in the city limits.

He’s increased sales tax multiple times already and has already told you he’s going to continue to do so
